New Joint Use Community Function Room

The Rec Reserve Committee are in the process of working with Council on developing the design and plans for a Joint Use Community Function Room which will be an addition to the existing change rooms at the Eastern Oval.

This is all subject to funding, design and planning approval by Council.

The original oval (West) is to be re-orientated to a more North-South direction (scheduled to commence November 2018), and our aim is also to be able to commence construction of this facility.

Why do we need this facility?

The current sporting and community groups that call the exiting facility home have out grown it.  The rooms used today are a blend of buildings constructed in 1972 and 1983 and they are no longer suitable to support the sporting clubs that host 878 participants, 2,320 members and supports (that's 3,198 people) and doesn't include our community groups!  (see pics below).

Our neighbours in Pakenham (below left) and Beaconsfield (below right) recreation reserves have been able to improve their facilities and now it's time for Officer to do the same.

The match day facilities for our supporters and members at Officer are inferior to our neighbours as well.  During the day our people have the option of some roof line coverage, a tin shed (pictured) or a 1980's school portable purchased by the Past Players & Officials (pictured).
